Q – WHAT IS THE “GET YOUR BUZZ UP” INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE?

A - The “Get Your Buzz Up” Industry Experience is an opportunity for up-and-coming artists to network with and perform in front of esteemed tastemakers in all fields of the music and media worlds. Within the experience, we have various vendor tables set up that include companies that the artists and attendees can benefit from such as publicity/design/web/video servies, entertainment attorneys, digital distribution outlets, new clothing companies, various press entities and much much more. We also have the most organized and professional artist showcase in which 15 Hip-Hop artists of all styles compete for a prize package that will enhance their overall exposure level within the music industry. Past showcase judges have included reps from Def Jam, G-Unit, Universal, Bad Boy, XXL, The Source, AllHipHop.com, HipHopDX.com and much much more. The Co-Founder of Inasirkl Music Group, J Hatch was also a Co-Founder of The Faces in The Crowd Showcase and was instrumental in helping Chrisette Michele get discovered and signed to Island/Def Jam.

Q – HOW DO I GET INVOLVED IN THE “GET YOUR BUZZ UP” ARTIST SHOWCASE?

A - In order to be considered for the showcase portion you must submit your MySpace page OR a single you would perform to getyourbuzzup@gmail.com. PLEASE PUT NYC or PHILLY in the SUBJECT LINE, depending on which showcase you are submitting for.

If selected there is a $300 registration fee. ($100 due in advance at meeting or via PayPal to secure your slot, remaining $200 is due in cash at soundcheck). For that fee, all artists will perform their 1 Song, receive tickets to sell or giveaway, a stack of flyers, as well as the e-promo package (MySpace codes, Twitter blast and jpegs for Facebook and MySpace invites)

FYI- Only feature artists get flyer placement. Do NOT submit if your budget does not allow for the registration fee, these shows cost thousands to put on and are not free. After you pay for two shows, you get a free feature slot. I need to see your commitment and grind before I extend that opportunity.

A - All showcased artists get a placement on the ‘Get Your Buzz Up’ Mixtape (distributed by Coast 2 Coast)

As the heat wave continues and electricity bills rise, the energy definitely went through the roof for me this past week. iStandard showcases in Philly and Atlanta followed by an early morning flight back to Philly to prep for Nico the Beast’s “The Beast Within” album release party had me on my toes. Welcome to Week 23! The Neptunes dropped this hard bouncy track for
Game’s Red Album and I had to jump on it. The Devil must have come out
and touched the sun and made it extra hot this week because it was
blazing outside. The side effect of that is crazy violence. We lost a
beautiful young lady who was very active in Philly’s music scene,
Sabina Rose O’Donnell. She was murdered 3 blocks away from where I
lived just a few short months ago. A 25,000 dollar reward has been

that the senseless violence in this city is evil, counterproductive
and downright disgusting. I’m sick of funerals and memorials. Change

She insisted that I had to hop on the Luniz classic track “I Got Five On It” and since it was the 5th week it made sense. The cool thing about being an up and coming artist is that you can constantly reintroduce yourself to new people. Shoutouts to the kid B.O.B. for bringing some laughter to this autotune situation. This song is a parody and the funny thing is if they released the song officially to dj pools it would be a hit. I bet some retarded DJ will put it on his mixtape lol. Is he dissing Wayne and T-Pain? I wouldn’t call it a diss but he is definitely making fun of Wayne in the rap part. Its all in fun.
