Welcome to week 34. Its weird to count down my year like this but its a new experience. I hope I never do a daily. That would really make the year fly by faster. This week is back to the basics. Bars. People often label rappers who just spit bars but there’s always a message in the music even when slick talk and punchlines are involved. Honestly joints like this are fun for me. I get to just touch on a few things that are on my mind. Be sure to catch the site for more than just the freestyles. I’ve been posting opportunities and events for artists and music professionals on the grind. This upcoming week marks two major events for the year. The first is the iStandard Producer Showcase at Highlands Hollywood in Los Angeles, California on Monday and Tuesday (the 23rd and 24th) and the Coast 2 Coast Convention in Miami, Florida which I posted about earlier in the week. Both are major. The Convention is critical. It will be one of those events like the Money Management Conferences that will have people talking afterwards till the next one comes around. Shouts to Nick and Fats and Mad Dog and Illaj and the whole team over there for bringing opportunities for unsigned and up and coming talent. Till we meet next week!

As the heat wave continues and electricity bills rise, the energy definitely went through the roof for me this past week. iStandard showcases in Philly and Atlanta followed by an early morning flight back to Philly to prep for Nico the Beast’s “The Beast Within” album release party had me on my toes. Speaking of Nico, jog on over (running at this point would be uncivilized) to www.NicoTheBeast.com or hit iTunes and cop up on what is truly a classic release and a personal journey filled with ups and downs from one of Philly’s finest emcees. Shouts to Symbolic-One aka S-1 for totally going in on this beat. Check for him and future music. He’s a friend of the fam and one of the realest men I’ve ever had the pleasure of chatting with. Welcome to Week 23! The Neptunes dropped this hard bouncy track for
Game’s Red Album and I had to jump on it. The Devil must have come out
and touched the sun and made it extra hot this week because it was
blazing outside. The side effect of that is crazy violence. We lost a
beautiful young lady who was very active in Philly’s music scene,
Sabina Rose O’Donnell. She was murdered 3 blocks away from where I
lived just a few short months ago. A 25,000 dollar reward has been
offered for any info leading to her killer. Donations can be made to

that the senseless violence in this city is evil, counterproductive
and downright disgusting. I’m sick of funerals and memorials. Change
the mindset people. Life is precious. Every single life is precious.

Its funny how this blog has become a mini journal of sorts. I cant say i vigorously promote it because I don’t. Its more of a place to keep track of things I do. This weeks freestyle comes courtesy of Kanye West with a bit of help from Daft Punk. We all vilify Kanye at times but then again we all have our Kanye moments. These are the times when you know you worked so hard at something and it went unnoticed. I have them every now and then so I decided to talk about it. Artists today advertise to other artists. Its like a sausagefest but with music instead lol. There’s also alot of silly jealousy and hate. People want me to support their movements fully but give lukewarm support or none at all when I need it. Its not going to happen buddy. Besides we aren’t on the same wavelength anyway. They think we are in the same lane but thats not my bumper you’re following. So without further ado I give you week 9, “Flashing Lights”.

Its week 5 and im still at it. Yep i am. I dont really promote this site like that yet so i am kinda writing something most of you will read later and i know it but fuck it haha. Week 5’s instrumental is brought to you by Miss Atl aka Laquan, my little sis who just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Khloe. She insisted that I had to hop on the Luniz classic track “I Got Five On It” and since it was the 5th week it made sense. The cool thing about being an up and coming artist is that you can constantly reintroduce yourself to new people. Consider this week a reintroduction to me, a little of who i am and what led me to this point… Enjoy.
