A hip-hop legend went through some medical issues this week and in
honor of Guru and the legendary group Gangstarr along with DJ Premier,
I decided to jump on one of their biggest hits and one of the illest
beats the great one ever produced. It’s hard to ignore the social
landscape of America as I travel to different cities and see the same
conditions as in my own neighborhood here in Philadelphia. Shout outs

Its funny how this blog has become a mini journal of sorts. I cant say i vigorously promote it because I don’t. Its more of a place to keep track of things I do. This weeks freestyle comes courtesy of Kanye West with a bit of help from Daft Punk. We all vilify Kanye at times but then again we all have our Kanye moments. These are the times when you know you worked so hard at something and it went unnoticed. I have them every now and then so I decided to talk about it. Artists today advertise to other artists. Its like a sausagefest but with music instead lol. There’s also alot of silly jealousy and hate. People want me to support their movements fully but give lukewarm support or none at all when I need it. Its not going to happen buddy. Besides we aren’t on the same wavelength anyway. They think we are in the same lane but thats not my bumper you’re following. So without further ado I give you week 9, “Flashing Lights”.

Welcome to week 8. Fresh from Atlanta I decided to do a little workout over Jay-Z’s Lyrical Exercise produced by Just Blaze. This is one of my favorite beats of all time and a few dope emcees have set fire to it. I felt like I had to give it a go.

This week the east coast was dumped on by massive snowfall twice. The accumulation touched somewhere around 40 to 50 inches. Luckily I snuck out in between snowfalls and made it to Atlanta, Ga. Vacation doesn’t stop deadlines and I had to call in a few favors to knock this week out. Kels of TN2 Productions and Rook of the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League who produced the record originally found me a slot at Hot Beats to record.. so i decided to pick one of my favorite JL Beats.. Shouts to Ricky Ross. I don’t care if you a cop son. You killed this one. Boss!

It’s Black History Month. I hope you guys are teaching the young ones a few things here and there about the history of a proud people. It’s our job to culturally enrich our children on all cultures.

Now about that music…

Who’s hotter in the game right now than the Young Money crew? Wayne, Drake and Nikki are everywhere. It was an easy choice to go in on this joint. As an artist sometimes you feel someone can go a bit harder so i decided to do so… Check it out and let me know what you think. Its week 5 and im still at it. Yep i am. I dont really promote this site like that yet so i am kinda writing something most of you will read later and i know it but fuck it haha. Week 5’s instrumental is brought to you by Miss Atl aka Laquan, my little sis who just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Khloe. She insisted that I had to hop on the Luniz classic track “I Got Five On It” and since it was the 5th week it made sense. The cool thing about being an up and coming artist is that you can constantly reintroduce yourself to new people. Consider this week a reintroduction to me, a little of who i am and what led me to this point… Enjoy.
