In 2009 Obama said Yes we can. At the end of 2010 I say Yes we did. At the end of 2009, which was one of the shittiest years in recent memory I decided I wanted to do something consistent. I wanted to do a weekly freestyle. Now weekly freestyles have been done before but I wanted to put my own twist on it. I decided to do a bar for every week of the year every week of the year. (did i lose anyone there? lol) It sounded cool but it also sounded a bit crazy. Thoughts of Alan Iverson repeating practice over and over resounded in my head because if you know me then you know that doing a freestyle is nothing really more than practice. But practice and hardwork and consistency is what separates the regular from the greats. My goal wasn’t to do something to become instantly famous. The goal was to keep myself sharp and keep my listeners with something new. After countless studio sessions in different cities and at least 51 headaches, the end is hear. I want to thank everyone who participated in some manner with this adventure. I know these aren’t complete sentences so know i know and read them anyway. Distant for the engineering sessions and tutorials. Nico for the constant feedback and for even recording a week. Noelle for opening up her studio to me in Cali. Kels, Rook and the JL fam for getting me right in Hot Beats in Atl and for helping me select their beats to spit on. Mundo for engineering my sessions in Atl. T, Ghost and the girls, Joi, Lexi and Sam for putting up with how crazy this series made me. Tray Tray, Dozi, Meek, and Keemie for being my most vocal and responsive supporters and fans. Quan for the excellent choice of “I Got 5 on It” for week 5 and Phylece for sending me into left field with The Killer’s instrumental. Mally good looks on the feedback too man. Shouts to iStandard. Inasirkl Music Group. Coast2Coast. Exponent Ent. 2dopeboyz. MaadManagement and anyone and everyone else who supported this movement at any point this year in any way. Shouts to everyone who put up with the emails once a week and to the people who didn’t ever listen but knew exactly what week I was on. Yea b&%ch I made it. So what did I do for week 52? As we approach the end of December and the end of the 52 Bar series I figured I would throw out some questions I’ve heard people ask about me either directly or indirectly. Everyone who knows me knows how big a fan of Hov and DJ Premier I am so big shouts to them. Welcome to Week 50. It gets weirder and weirder typing the number. As we approached the end of this years journey I took a trip back to 95 and also back to 02 with Onyx’ single from their second album Shut Em Down produced by Fredro Starr. I mean with beats like this why isn’t he still producing? Onyx was one of my favorite groups growing up. Unfortunately I was trying to really throw my guns in the air at 12 lol. The beat was reintroduced in Eminem’s 02 hit movie 8 Mile during the battle scenes at Detroit’s world famous Shelter. Enough with the historical background. Much love to Chicago where I performed this past week with LEP Bogus Boys and Gallardo Tone. Shouts to AOK and Last Dragon Productions and GLC who is a cool ass dude. Check his music out. Its cold. I mean like bone chilling cold. I guess folks get cranky. They complain. Honestly there is alot to complain about if that’s your twist. Things can always be worse. They will get worse. Then they will get better. It’s a cold world and nobody really cares about your problems. Most of the people who said they did lied to you. That includes some family and close friends. I hate seeing homeless people period but something about it really bothers me in the winter. Alot of stuff bothers me actually. We need to put pressure on these politicians to make the changes and set the laws that we really want and need. On a personal level remember that struggle breeds character. Character breeds success. Maybe not directly and not immediately but it does. Trust me lol. I guess you guys will get 3 more of these things then its over. I’m off to Chicago for a show so cold seems to be the current theme lol. Shouts to the Gza and the Rza for the track too. Peace and love. Warmth and all. Later.

They say if you love something then you should let it go and if it’s meant to be it will come back to you. That sums up how I felt about this track and this beat in particular. Just Blaze put his foot in the one and Jay Elec dropped his best effort ever in my opinion before the countless numbers of rappers decided to Undertaker style tombstone pile driver this one into the mat. But like all timeless joints, it never gets old. I resisted the urge earlier in the year but right about now in the stretch run the beat selection process is definitely harder than writing the actual bars. After listening to “Hard in the Paint” until I got a headache i decided it was time. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, i present to you Exhibit Ciz.. .Enjoy.
